Fear Slowly Becoming Trust
Good morning, sweet friends.
It's been a busy few days around here, and I realized I hadn't had the chance to sit down and share everything that's been happening. We still have friends here at the house, but I wanted to give you all a little update, because you're such an important part of this journey.
Our farrier days were simply incredible. Watching Josh and his team work with the animals is always amazing, but this visit felt especially emotional. Seeing how far so many of these sweet souls have come since their very first trims was a beautiful reminder of just how much healing is possible with time, patience, and love.
One of my favorite parts is having Josh and Fiona here. It never feels like people coming to work. It feels like family coming home. We laugh together, celebrate every little victory together, and love these animals together. I'm so grateful for them.
Then Saturday brought the perfect surprise. Just as Josh and Fiona were still here, the transporter pulled in with our newest rescues. It couldn't have been better timing. Everyone was able to witness their arrival, help welcome them, and be part of those very first moments. It made such a special day even more meaningful.
Our new little family is settling in well. The two horses have been eating hay almost non-stop since they arrived. They're clearly making up for lost time, and seeing them finally able to eat without worry is such a gift.
Mama donkey is doing okay. We did need to start her on antibiotics, and we're watching her closely. Our little filly is taking everything one step at a time. She's still learning that people can be safe. Yesterday, I had one of those moments I'll treasure forever. I was gently petting her, and little by little she relaxed, and then she fell asleep while I was loving on her. It was one of those quiet moments that reminds me exactly why we do this. Watching fear slowly become trust is something I'll never take for granted.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. Your prayers, encouragement, and support make moments like these possible. Every life that's rescued, every hoof that's healed, every frightened animal that learns to trust again, you're a part of that story.
I also know there are several of you waiting to be added to the board. I promise I haven't forgotten. I'm going to spend some time this week getting caught up and a little more organized. There've just been so many moving pieces, and I appreciate your patience and grace.
I hope each of you has a beautiful, peaceful week. Thank you for loving these animals as deeply as we do and for being such an incredible part of the Cash's Crew family.
With love, Sara
