Well, I think it's safe to say Spirit has officially won Rick over! 😂

You all know Rick is usually the practical one around here. When I told him we were bringing in more horses, his first reaction was, "Oh my gosh, MORE horses?" And I understand! Horses are a lot of work, and we certainly have our hands full already.

Now that you've met Murphy, it's time to introduce you to his handsome friend, Spirit! ❤️

And let me tell you, this boy is a LOVE. He's got the most beautiful eyes, one blue and one brown, and the sweetest personality. Every morning when I come to see him, he greets me with kisses and then has to give me a good sniff. I just adore him!

We've got some sweet new faces to introduce you to! ❤️

These two came to us along with Woody as owner surrenders, and unlike so many of the animals we rescue, they've been loved and well cared for their entire lives.

I thought we'd wrap up our time in the blind pasture with a visit to someone who has taught me a pretty important lesson about rescue. Our sweet Frosty. ❤️

Frosty is our blind donkey, and after spending so much time with him, we suspect he may have experienced some kind of neurological injury as well. But that just makes him all the more special to us.

I just had to give you guys a little tour of our fall festival decorations because I think everything is turning out SO cute!!

Every animal in this pasture has their own personality, and Sarika might just have the biggest one of all! 😂

She is our moodiest horse by far. Some days she loves me, and other days she wants absolutely nothing to do with me. But when she's feeling affectionate, she's just wonderful. And there's no denying how beautiful she is!

One thing I've learned from caring for these animals is that there's always something new to learn and always something more we can try to make their lives better. ❤️

JoJo and Spartacus came to us together, and I've actually started wondering if JoJo might still have some vision. We're planning to have the same ophthalmologist who treated Oscar come out to the farm and examine everyone in the blind pasture. I'm hopeful that some of them may still have partial vision and could potentially benefit from surgery.

The blind pasture has always been one of my favorite places on the farm, and I think you'll understand why after spending a little time with us here. ❤️

It's been about two weeks since we moved Pippi and Freckles up here, and I couldn't be prouder of how they're doing. When they first arrived, they were practically skin and bones. Now they're gaining weight, exploring their new home, and even making friends! At first, they wouldn't leave each other's side, but little by little, they're finding their confidence.
