Well, I think it's safe to say Spirit has officially won Rick over! 😂

You all know Rick is usually the practical one around here. When I told him we were bringing in more horses, his first reaction was, "Oh my gosh, MORE horses?" And I understand! Horses are a lot of work, and we certainly have our hands full already.

But then Spirit and Murphy arrived, and wouldn't you know it, Rick completely melted. He's out here visiting them all the time, and he's especially taken with Spirit. I think he's already dreaming about getting to ride him!

Spirit is such a character. He absolutely loves giving kisses, although I'm starting to think he just likes the salt on my skin! He's got a little extra weight on him right now, but once he's out exploring the big pasture and getting some training with Fiona, I think he's going to be a rock star.

Something else I love about Spirit's story is that his previous owner was there the day he was born. She's known and loved this horse his entire life. I know how difficult it must have been to say goodbye, and I hope seeing him so happy here brings her some peace.

And watching Spirit and Murphy love on each other is just the sweetest thing. Horses form such beautiful bonds, and there's something really special about seeing the affection and comfort they find in one another. These two have shared so much of their lives together, and I'm so grateful they get to continue that friendship here.

It's a beautiful reminder that sometimes the greatest comfort we can give an animal is simply letting them stay close to the ones they love. ❤️
